Video Spotlight Day2: YouTube’s First Video, What was it?

YouTube’s First video ever? That’s a $1,000,000 question.

How would you have answered if posed that question? Now you will know so I expect a cut.Uploaded at 8:27Pm o Saturday April 23rd, 2005. The video was shot by Yakov Lapitsky at the San Diego Zoo. Pay close attention you are about to hear from a future $300,000,000 man in the embryo stage.

That’s a true testament of the power of video, it makes everything better, even that performance is now renowned.

Who is this masked man? For those of you wondering who this is in the video?

This is the third of the founders of YouTube, Jawed Karim.., along with Steve Chen  and  Chad Hurley.You rarely see him in interviews or pictures so we will have to find a little more information on his role.

Jawed Karim (born in 1979, East Germany) is a German, Bangladeshi American internet entrepreneur. He is best known for being the co-founder of the popular video sharing website YouTube. Many of the core components of PayPal, including its real-time anti-fraud system, were also designed and implemented by Karim.

Karim was born in Merseburg, East Germany, but crossed the Berlin Wall and grew up in Neuss, West Germany. He moved to the United States with his family in 1992, two years after German reunification. He graduated from Central High School in Minnesota and later attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.[1] He left campus prior to graduating to become an early employee at PayPal, but continued his coursework, earning his Bachelor of Science in computer science in 2004.
